Job summary

Priory in Rainham, Essex, is seeking a Deputy Home Manager to lead our senior care team and support the Home Manager in delivering safe, person-centred care for nine residents with learning disabilities.

You will guide staff, maintain regulatory standards (CQC/RQIA), develop staff through inductions and training, and build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals while ensuring a warm, compliant home environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, or Deputy Manager, ready to take the next step.
  • Natural leader who is approachable, supportive, and skilled at bringing out the best in others.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality care and its importance to residents and families.
  • Organised, proactive and confident managing operational care, risk assessments, audits and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Home Manager to ensure the home runs smoothly and complies with regulatory standards (CQC/RQIA).
  • Leading and inspiring the senior care team to provide outstanding, person-centred support.
  • Building strong relationships with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals.
  • Holding regular staff meetings and maintaining open, positive communication.
  • Guiding new staff through inductions and ongoing training.
  • Overseeing risk assessments and safety checks to keep the home safe and compliant.
  • Participating in quality checks and audits to identify improvements.
  • Collaborating with regional managers to develop new ideas and services.
  • Ensuring staff feel valued, supported and motivated.

Lily Close is located in Rainham, Essex. It offers residential support for nine males and females with a primary learning disability diagnosis. We are located within a gated community, off a main road.

Our team are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, providing them with the skills needed for them to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.

What you're doing

Are you passionate about delivering outstanding care and inspiring others? We’re looking for a compassionate Deputy Home Manager to support the Home Manager in leading our dedicated team.

You’ll help ensure our home remains a safe, warm, and welcoming environment for residents and families while guiding and supporting colleagues to deliver the highest standards of care.

This role is ideal for an experienced care leader who is confident making decisions, committed to team development, and ready to take the next step in their career.

This role is split to do 20 hours supernumerary and 20 hours on the floor.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the Home Manager to make sure our home runs smoothly and always meets regulatory standards (CQC/RQIA).
  • Leading, guiding, and inspiring the senior care team to provide outstanding, person-centred support.
  • Building strong relationships with residents, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Holding regular staff meetings, keeping communication open and positive.
  • Helping new staff settle in with thorough inductions, ongoing training, and plenty of encouragement.
  • Overseeing risk assessments and safety checks to make sure our home is safe and compliant.
  • Playing a key role in quality checks and audits, always looking for ways we can improve.
  • Working alongside regional managers to develop and introduce new ideas and services.
  • Ensuring our staff feel valued, supported, and motivated to do their very best.
