Role Overview

The post holder will support the Claims Manager – Claims in planning and delivering robust systems and processes to ensure that all claims are effectively managed and that their financial impact is minimised. The role involves managing a personal caseload, proactively learning from claims, and sharing lessons widely to contribute to continuous service improvement and the highest standards of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver systems and processes for managing Claims, working with the Claims Manager – Claims.
  • Manage own caseload, ensuring proactive and dynamic handling of claims.
  • Support and update the Claims Manager – Claims in day‑to‑day management of Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury Claims, RTC, and Inquests.
  • Ensure claims are managed in accordance with Health Board policies, the Welsh Office Circular Welsh Health Circular (97) 17, and the Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement and uphold highest standards of patient care.
Qualifications
  • Ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.
  • Previous experience relevant to the position will be considered for a higher starting salary under the Trust’s Starting Salary Procedure.

Pay

In line with the Trust’s Starting Salary Procedure, all applicants will start at the bottom of the band for the position applied for, but can apply for a higher salary if they have previous experience relevant to the position.
