Job summary

Dove Adolescent Services Ltd is seeking a Deputy Manager to oversee two 2‑bed homes in Barnsley. You will support day‑to‑day operations, ensuring high‑quality care, safeguarding, and the rights and needs of each young person are met.

You will lead staff, manage records and quality assurance, and work with external agencies to ensure continuous service improvements. DBS check and eligibility apply.

Qualifications

• Proven team leadership or management experience.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with young people, families and partners.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high‑quality care that meets safeguarding and regulatory standards.
• Promote each young person’s rights, wellbeing and individual needs.
• Lead, guide and support staff to maintain excellent practice.
• Oversee records, documentation, monitoring systems and quality assurance.
• Support daily operations, decision‑making and service improvements.
• Maintain Health & Safety compliance and up‑to‑date staff training.
• Assist with rotas, inductions, supervision and appraisals.
• Support safer recruitment and HR processes (grievances, complaints, disciplinaries).
• Contribute to budget monitoring and resource management.
• Ensure both homes are safe, well maintained and compliant.
• Build strong relationships with external agencies, commissioners and partners.
• Assist with placements and admissions when required.
• Participate in the on‑call rota and cover sleep‑ins as needed.
