Job summary

Plantsbrook School in England is seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion and Wellbeing to join the Senior Leadership Team from January 2027. The role shapes a culture where every pupil feels safe, supported, and able to reach their potential.

You will provide strategic leadership across inclusion, safeguarding, wellbeing, attendance, and behaviour, while maintaining a teaching commitment of around 0.3 and working with governors to drive school improvement.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS and has significant leadership experience in a secondary school.
• Strong track record in pastoral leadership, safeguarding, and behaviour management.
• Ability to use data strategically to improve student outcomes.
• Outstanding communicator capable of building relationships with staff, students, families and partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead inclusion, safeguarding, wellbeing, attendance and behaviour across the school.
• Line manage key staff including SEND team and behaviour leads.
• Contribute to whole-school planning with Headteacher and Governors.
• Maintain approx. 0.3 teaching commitment and modelling best practice.
