Job summary

Belmont School is seeking an ambitious Deputy Headteacher - Curriculum to join the Senior Leadership Team. You will drive an ambitious, inclusive and personalised curriculum for pupils with SEMH, shaping teaching, learning and assessment across the school.

Working with the Headteacher, you will develop teachers and middle leaders, lead curriculum planning and timetable coordination, and oversee examinations from 2026/27 while ensuring high expectations and strong professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/PGCE and strong teaching background.
• Significant successful teaching and leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge and experience of curriculum design and development.
• Proven ability to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
• Strong understanding of assessment, pupil progress and data analysis.
• Ability to coach, challenge and inspire teachers and leaders.
• Excellent organisational, communication and strategic leadership skills.
• Commitment to improving outcomes for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, families and external professionals.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school's curriculum strategy with ambition, inclusion and personalised pathways.
• Drive teaching quality through QA, observations and learning walks.
• Oversee assessment and progress tracking using pupil data to inform interventions.
• Develop and coach teachers and subject leaders for high performance.
• Lead curriculum planning, timetabling and resource management across the school.
• Line manage senior leaders including Subject Leaders and Assistant Heads.
• Prepare and manage examination arrangements from 2026/27 onwards.
• Collaborate with Headteacher and SLT on school improvement and budgeting.
