Job summary

REESON Education is recruiting a Deputy Headteacher for a brand-new Specialist SEN School in Braintree, Essex. You will join the founding leadership team and help shape culture, curriculum and systems from the ground up, with strong emphasis on safeguarding, inclusion and high-quality teaching.

You will work closely with the Headteacher to establish vision, values and ethos, and you will have opportunities for leadership growth as the school develops towards Headship for the right candidate.

Deputy Headteacher

New Specialist SEN School Braintree, Essex

An exciting opportunity to help shape a new school from the very beginning - with the potential to progress to Headteacher as the school grows.

We are delighted to be recruiting a Deputy Headteacher to join the founding leadership team of an exciting new Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Braintree, Essex.

This is much more than a traditional Deputy Headteacher role. As a new school, you will have the rare opportunity to help create the culture, curriculum, systems and community that will define the school for years to come.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the founding Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and developing the school.

You will help shape:

• The school's vision, values, principles and ethos.
• A positive, inclusive and aspirational culture for pupils and staff.
• High-quality teaching, learning and therapeutic approaches appropriate to our pupils.
• Strong systems for safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and pastoral support.
• Effective partnerships with families, professionals and the wider community.
• Staff development, wellbeing and a culture of continuous improvement.
• The structures and practices required as the school expands.

As the school develops, there will be significant opportunities for professional growth and leadership development. For the right person, this role could provide a genuine pathway towards Headship as the school grows.
