Job summary

Keys Education seeks a Deputy Headteacher for New Ways School in Birmingham. You will support school leadership to drive high standards of teaching, behaviour and pastoral care in a trauma-informed environment, modelling professional conduct and upholding EPIC values.

In this role you will lead school culture, safeguarding, inclusion and continuous improvement while partnering with staff, pupils and parents to ensure excellent outcomes for 11-19 learners with SEND.”

Qualifications

  • QTS/QTLS required.
  • Proven leadership experience in a special school or complex educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted inspection framework, safeguarding, SEND, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Ability to lead teams, motivate staff and model professional conduct as per Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with staff, pupils, parents and external partners.

Deputy Headteacher – New Ways School, 300 Redhill Road, Kings Norton, Birmingham, B38 9EL

Purpose of the Role

The Deputy Headteacher supports the Headteacher in providing effective leadership and management of the school. The role is pivotal in driving high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour, and pastoral care in a trauma-informed, therapeutic environment. The Deputy acts as a role model for staff, embodying the school’s EPIC values (Excellence, Passion, Integrity, Caring) and the professional behaviours outlined in the Staff Code of Conduct Policy.

At New Ways School

New Ways is an Outstanding Independent SEN School with two sites. Our KS3 students attend our school site in South Birmingham (B38), and our KS4 KS5 students attend our college site in North Worcestershire (B60). New Ways caters for 11-19 year olds who have SEND needs relating mainly to Autism.

We offer an environment that is safe and low sensory alongside an ambitious curriculum which includes a suite of GCSE’s and enrichment opportunities to ensure students achieve the very best outcomes possible and are fully prepared for their transition in to Further education, employment, training and adulthood.
