Job summary

Castle School in Ashington is seeking a Deputy Headteacher to join the dedicated leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate professional to shape the future of a school serving pupils with complex needs.

We are looking for a leader who combines compassion, energy and strong management to make a real difference to pupils and their families, while upholding safeguarding and inclusion at every level.

Responsibilities

  • Create a culture where pupils experience a positive and enriching learning environment.
  • Lead and contribute to whole school improvement strategies.
  • Support the Headteacher in leading and managing Castle School by providing high quality leadership and management for all staff throughout the whole school.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and enriching learning environment.
  • Ensure that practices, policies and procedures are followed and developed, and are effective in meeting the individual needs of the children and young people.
  • Support and develop staff to achieve excellence across all areas.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding.
