Woodstock House, part of the Kingswood House School Trust, is seeking an exceptional Deputy Head Teacher – Pastoral to lead its pastoral provision for pupils in Years 4–13. The role centers on safeguarding, wellbeing and personal development within a distinctive SEND ethos.

• Genuine passion for working with pupils with SEND and additional needs.
• Excellent pastoral leadership rooted in relationships.
• Ability to balance warmth with boundaries and high expectations.
• Experience leading behaviour and pastoral systems in a complex setting.
• Calm under pressure with strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Confidence engaging with parents and carers on challenging conversations.
• Ability to develop staff and build consistent pastoral practice.
• Strong judgement, emotional intelligence and optimism for young people.

Responsabilités

• Lead and develop the school’s pastoral strategy and provision.
• Promote a culture where pupils feel safe, respected and known as individuals.
• Oversee behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and safeguarding systems.
• Collaborate with DSL, SEND and therapeutic teams to provide joined-up support.
• Support pupils as they move through the school and prepare for next steps beyond Year 13.
• Use data to identify patterns and evaluate provision effectiveness.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and strategic leadership.
