Job summary

Kedleston Group is opening a brand-new specialist school in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, and is seeking a Deputy Head Teacher to lead the school community with passion and purpose. The role will shape and deliver an outstanding curriculum and SEMH provision to support pupils’ mental health and wellbeing.

You will champion an inclusive culture, drive school improvement, and inspire staff teams to achieve the best outcomes for every pupil.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required.
• Proven leadership and management experience in a school.
• Strong experience teaching and supporting pupils with SEMH needs.

Be part of an exciting new specialist school in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter

This is a unique opportunity to play the pivotal role of Deputy Head Teacher within a brand-new Kedleston Group school, opening in 2027.

The school has huge potential for developing specialist facilities designed to best support children’s mental health and wellbeing and to provide a state‑of‑the‑art learning environment for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

As the Deputy Headteacher, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring the school community with passion and purpose, driving school improvement forward through shaping and delivering an outstanding curriculum and offer. You will champion a positive and inclusive school culture ensuring the best possible outcomes for all pupils.

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Proven leadership and management experience in a school setting.
• Strong experience teaching and supporting children with autism spectrum condition and associated social, emotional and mental health needs
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to inspire, motivate, and develop staff teams
