Job Description: Deputy Head - Property & Facilities (Events Venue, Greater London)

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a technical team responsible for the maintenance, health & safety, and security of an iconic London venue and its surrounding gardens and open spaces.

About the Company

The venue hosts a range of large-scale events including exhibitions, festivals, sporting events, concerts, theatre shows, and outdoor experiences. Established nearly years ago, it serves a diverse client base from agencies and end users, offering both indoor and outdoor spaces and an exciting in-house event programme.

Role Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of estate upkeep, repairs, and restoration projects.
  • Ensure urgent maintenance requests are addressed promptly.
  • Collaborate with the facilities coordinator, chief engineer, and surveyor to complete projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Oversee major projects undertaken by the Facilities Team and external contractors.
  • Monitor and manage the maintenance and repairs budget.
  • Develop efficient processes and communication systems within the Facilities Team and wider organization.
  • Ensure the estate operates effectively, safely, and in compliance with regulations.
  • Manage external contractors effectively.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health and safety within the team.
Candidate Requirements

Candidates should hold a NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent health and safety qualification and have experience in a similar role covering both hard and soft services. A proven track record in busy, complex operational environments is essential. It is desirable to have a formal engineering qualification at HND level or above, along with professional memberships such as CIBSE, CIOB, or RICS. Experience in leading teams and managing scheduled maintenance, including Mechanical and Engineering services, is highly preferred.
