NHS England seeks a Deputy Head of School to support the Head of School in enhancing educational outcomes and leading curriculum innovation. This evolving role will focus on workforce transformation and improving learner experiences in a collaborative environment. Candidates should have strong educational leadership skills and a relevant postgraduate qualification.
The role of Deputy Head of School is to work with and support the Head of School and NHS England East Midlands Postgraduate Dean in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the NHS England mandate.
The Deputy Head of School is professionally and managerially accountable to the Head of School. The Deputy Head of School supports the Head of School to focus on improving learner supervision, assessment, and experience, engaging faculty, and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future. The role is evolving and will also focus on whole workforce transformation, developing multi-professional links, innovative curriculum delivery, and workforce well-being strategies.
To support the Heads of School, the Deputy Head of School works across the spectrum of health and social care, within a team, so that education provision reflects changing service models. This will deliver an integrated workforce comprising individuals from various professional and other backgrounds.
The Deputy Head of School is expected to support the Head of School in meeting the challenges of leading the School and Education Providers to deliver the evolving curriculum in a changing service landscape.
The Deputy Head of School will lead on projects as agreed with the Head of School.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in person.
