Job Description:

LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of an in-house legal services team operating within the emergency services/public sector, based in Hertfordshire, for a Deputy Head of Legal Services on a full-time and permanent basis.

Working alongside the Head of Legal Services to lead a team of approximately 12 staff, you will have caseload responsibility for civil litigation matters and employment claims, and direct line management for at least 2 civil investigators and 2 insurance officers.

This role offers hybrid working and flexi-time options. You must be local enough to Hertfordshire to attend meetings, training, and court hearings when required.

To apply you will be:

• An England and Wales qualified solicitor, barrister, or chartered legal executive with at least 3 years’ PQE
• Experienced in handling civil litigation and employment matters
• Experienced in direct line management
• Able to attend the office and court on a hybrid basis

The salary range for this role is £52,400 - £63,500 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
