Job Description:

LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of an in-house legal services team operating within the emergency services/public sector, based in Hertfordshire, for a Deputy Head of Legal Services on a full-time and permanent basis.

Working alongside the Head of Legal Services to lead the team of approximately 12 posts, you will have caseload responsibility for handling civil litigation matters and defending employment claims, and you will have direct line management responsibility for at least 2 civil investigators and 2 insurance officers.

This role can offer hybrid working and flexi-time options. You must be local enough to Hertfordshire to attend meetings, training, and court hearings when required.

To apply you will be:

  • An England and Wales qualified solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive with minimum 3 years’ PQE
  • Able to demonstrate previous experience handling a caseload of civil litigation and employment matters
  • Able to demonstrate previous experience of direct line management
  • Able to attend the office and court on a hybrid basis

The salary guidance for this role is £52,400 - £63,500 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
