We are seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team as Deputy Head Nurse. The ideal candidate is a hands-on RVN competent in all aspects of nursing, committed to providing gold standard care for our patients and clients. The applicant should have a forward-thinking vision to support the Head Nurse in leading the nursing team, with some leadership experience and a proven ability to foster a dynamic and efficient working environment.
Alma Veterinary Hospital is located in Windsor, a royal town with attractions like Windsor Castle, Lego Land, and Thorpe Park. Windsor offers beautiful countryside along the Thames and Windsor Great Park, with many restaurants, shops, and cafes within walking distance. Excellent transport links include London Paddington and Waterloo, Heathrow, Gatwick, M4, and M25.
Our fully equipped first opinion practice handles a wide range of surgical and medical cases, with dedicated facilities including separate cat and dog waiting rooms, wards, a dental suite, imaging room, and in-house laboratory. We are the only practice within a 15-mile radius offering laparoscopic surgery.
Our team comprises 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 10 nurses (including 9 RVNs and 1 student), 2 nursing assistants, and support staff. Many team members have been with us for years, fostering a family-like environment focused on high standards of care and colleague welfare.
Flexible options are available, including part-time or full-time (up to 38 hours/week). Shifts vary between 07:30-19:30, with 1 in 5 Saturday mornings, and approximately 1 night shift per week (sleeping shift with inpatient checks). The following day is off.
