Job summary

HM Land Registry is seeking an outstanding technology leader to join as Deputy Director of Technology Services. This senior role leads ~300 IT professionals, oversees a ~£50m budget, and ensures secure, reliable, and responsive technology services for customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities include directing diverse technical staff, maintaining core systems, managing budgets and suppliers, and driving security.

Qualifications

• Broad enterprise-level understanding of technology and infrastructure.
• Broad enterprise-level understanding of cyber security.
• Experience leading large IT teams and complex change initiatives.
• Strong supplier, contract management and commercial awareness.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and leadership to a broad group of technical staff across multiple technologies.
• Ensure core systems performance supports major change activities and continuous improvement.
• Manage large IT budgets (circa £50m) and suppliers in line with government guidance.
• Ensure appropriate security solutions and services are deployed to protect the organisation.
• Collaborate with technical architecture to shape the future direction of infrastructure.
• Be an active member of the leadership team, promoting organisational values.
• Communicate with executives, staff and external stakeholders to drive partnerships.
• Serve as Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) for relevant projects or portfolios.
• Create an environment where the team can succeed through clear delegation and performance criteria.
