Job summary

HM Land Registry in Plymouth is seeking a Deputy Director Technology Services to lead a team of around 300 IT professionals and ensure service performance, security and resilience across a complex technology estate.

You will oversee infrastructure, networks, cloud hosting, data centre services, end-user devices and data storage while managing a circa £50m budget and driving value for money within government guidelines.

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of technology, infrastructure, and cyber security at an enterprise level.
• Experience leading infrastructure teams at an enterprise level.
• Oversight of large-scale technology projects or change activities.
• Experience in cyber security within a low-risk enterprise environment.
• Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness and experience in negotiations and contracts.
• Experience leading and developing large, complex groups of technical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and leadership to a broad group of technical staff.
• Ensure the performance of core systems continues to meet the needs of the organisation whilst supporting major change activities and continuous improvement.
• Manage large IT budgets (circa £50m) and suppliers in accordance with wider government guidance, driving value for money and savings.
• Ensure appropriate security solutions and services are deployed to protect the organisation from malicious attacks.
• Work closely with technical architecture to ensure the future direction of infrastructure meets the expectations of the organisation.
• Be an active and supportive member of directorate and wider organisation leadership team, promoting and demonstrating organisational values.
• Communicate with a wide range of HMLR executives, staff and external stakeholders, driving partnerships, setting the agenda and influencing the wider development of the property sector.
• Serve as Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) for projects or portfolios that are relevant to the role.
• Create an environment where our people can succeed, effectively leading and developing your senior management team through clear delegation of responsibilities and agreement of performance criteria.
