Are you a strategic People/HR professional looking for your next role?

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is hiring for a Deputy Director of People & Culture position. This position plays a central role in our senior leadership team and is responsible for shaping the direction of our people function.

We are an ambitious organisation and we’re looking for a People professional who wants to take on a varied and high-profile role.

Salary


The salary for this position is £87,000 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of 2 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

Culture & Strategy
  • Engage with our Senior Leadership and Charity Leadership Group to develop, deliver and embed a People & Culture strategy that is aligned to the Charity’s Strategy.
  • Foster a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion that is integrated into the People & Culture strategy.
  • Conduct regular horizon scanning to ensure that GOSH Charity has a forward-thinking culture and can proactively respond to future cultural workplace trends.
People
  • Lead a high performing People Team across People Experience, People Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, EDI & Wellbeing, Volunteering and Learning & Development.
  • Provide exceptional business partnering to the Charity, providing accurate and reliable people and employment advice to managers.
  • Lead on employee engagement activities, including annual staff survey.
  • Effectively manage the People budget.
Leadership
  • Be a visible and compelling ambassador, and advocate, ensuring the People & Culture strategy are clearly communicated across the Charity.
  • Provide inspiring leadership within the Charity, encouraging role-modelling, coaching, mentoring and embedding a high-performance culture and practices.
  • Provide charity wide leadership for our volunteering strategy, EDI & Wellbeing and Learning & Development.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience in successfully leading a high functioning and successful People Team, developing consistently high performing individuals/teams.
  • Experience developing and implementing a people strategy.
  • Experience leading cross organisational change, involving people, culture and systems.
  • Experience of motivating, developing and empowering teams.
  • Experience managing diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proven experience of and commitment to leading and delivering innovative EDI plans.
  • Budget management experience.
  • MCIPD qualified or equivalent People/HR qualification.
