Job Summary

We are recruiting for a Deputy Director responsible for delivering end-to-end service transformation of public-facing MoJ services through a newly established pathfinder model. Responsibilities include planning, designing, delivering, and reporting on at least three pathfinder projects, managing approximately 20-30 staff, and overseeing matrix management responsibilities.

This new role supports the growing emphasis on pathfinder activities within MoJ and aligns with the ExCo prioritised Transformation plan. The role involves executing delivery aspects, acting as a key member of the Service Strategy and Transformation leadership team, and applying digital technology to address major challenges across the department.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the pathfinder portfolio and ExCo Transformation plan, coordinating projects across Justice and maintaining stakeholder buy-in.
2. Lead service strategy and transformation projects, utilizing multidisciplinary teams and innovative technology, covering all project lifecycle stages.
3. Report progress to senior officials and Ministers, focusing on priority work.
4. Create and refine business cases demonstrating the benefits of pathfinder activities to secure ongoing investment.
5. Manage a team of 20-30 FTE and contribute to the senior leadership of the Service Strategy and Transformation Directorate, exemplifying civil service values and managing up to 80 FTE across MoJ.
