Teaching Personnel's PWR team is partnering with a high-achieving all-through school in Bexley to appoint a Deputy Director of Science. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to support the strategic development and delivery of the science curriculum across the secondary phase and contribute to whole-school improvement.

Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if available)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary:£37,913-£55,494 + TLR (Outer London MPS/UPS) + Performance and Loyalty Bonus + Wellbeing Cash Plan + Pension Scheme (TPS) + Additional Trust Benefits
About the Role:
As Deputy Director of Science, you will work closely with the Director of Science to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning across biology, chemistry, and physics. You will lead on curriculum development, staff coaching, and data-informed interventions, with the opportunity to shape the department's strategic direction in an inclusive and high-performing school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the strategic leadership of the science department across key stages
Lead the development and delivery of a rich and ambitious science curriculum
Mentor and support teaching staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Analyse performance data to inform intervention and raise attainment
Collaborate with senior leaders as part of the extended leadership team
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong track record of teaching science at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Experience in middle or senior leadership
Evidence of raising student outcomes in science
Inspirational leadership with a commitment to excellence in STEM education
