Job summary

HM Treasury seeks an experienced policy leader to shape its devolution approach and influence policy affecting Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. You will lead a capable Devolution team across multiple locations, coordinating with devolved administrations and Whitehall to deliver fiscally focused policy.

The role sits at the centre of government activity, guiding Ministers and senior officials with strategic advice.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a high-performing policy team.
• Proven ability to shape and communicate strategy clearly.
• Strong judgement in complex or politically sensitive issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Devolution team, promoting a strong, inclusive, and creative culture while sustaining performance across a busy portfolio.
• Manage senior interactions with UK Government, devolved governments, and external organisations, building trust.
• Provide strategic counsel and clear briefings to Ministers, special advisers, and senior officials on funding and devolved matters.
• Coordinate policy packages during fiscal events and oversee six funding settlements involving the devolved governments and Offices for the Nations.
