Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking an Offshore Wind Deputy Completion Manager for a contract role in Lowestoft, UK. You will support the Completion Manager in overseeing completion, commissioning and handover activities across major assets, ensuring safety, schedule and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in offshore wind or similar large-scale projects, with strong stakeholder management and CMS proficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine or similar) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in offshore wind, oil & gas or large infrastructure project completion and commissioning.
• Experience on UK-based offshore or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of UK CDM Regulations and offshore construction standards.
• Proficiency in Completion Management Systems (PIMS, MCPlus, GoCompletions).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise deliverables.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UK HSE, CDM and safety plans.

Job description

Play a pivotal role in the successful handover of major offshore energy assets while driving quality, safety and commissioning excellence.

Our Client has a requirement for an Offshore Wind Deputy Completion Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Lowestoft - 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation.

Role Purpose:

• Support the Completion Manager in overseeing completion, commissioning and handover activities across major infrastructure assets.
• Ensure systems and work packages are delivered safely, on schedule and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Drive quality, safety and operational readiness throughout the completion and commissioning phases.
• Facilitate successful system handover to operations teams.
• Support the management of project completion processes, documentation and stakeholder coordination.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Support the Completion Manager in leading mechanical completion and commissioning activities across major project assets.
• Manage the implementation and tracking of the Completion Management System (CMS), ensuring accurate status reporting, document control, punch list management and system readiness for handover.
• Coordinate with contractors, commissioning teams, package managers and project stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.
• Monitor commissioning and completion milestones, proactively identifying and resolving issues to prevent delays.
• Ensure all activities are delivered in compliance with UK HSE legislation, CDM Regulations, project-specific safety plans and company safety policies.
• Lead and participate in system walkdowns, punch list closeout activities and readiness-for-operations reviews.
• Prepare, review and oversee completion and commissioning dossiers, handover certificates and final documentation packages.
• Deputise for the Completion Manager when required, representing the completion function at project meetings and operational activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives across completion processes.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Essential:

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine or similar discipline) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in offshore wind, oil & gas or large infrastructure project completion and commissioning environments.
• Experience working on UK-based offshore or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of UK CDM Regulations, offshore construction standards and completion management best practices.
• Proficiency in Completion Management Systems such as PIMS, MCPlus, GoCompletions or similar platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise project deliverables effectively.
• Right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

• Experience delivering completion and commissioning activities on major renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Offshore certifications including GWO Basic Safety Training (BST), HUET, BOSIET and Chester Step Test.
