Job summary

SGS-Care-Ltd is seeking a Deputy Children's Manager for a residential children’s home in Adbaston. You will lead care practices, deputise for the Registered Manager and oversee staff performance while ensuring safeguarding compliance and positive outcomes for children.

The role requires 2 years in residential childcare with supervisory experience, Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 desirable), and flexibility for sleep-ins and weekends.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent; willing to complete Level 5 Leadership & Management.
• Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification desirable.
• 2 years in residential childcare with supervisory/management experience.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge, trauma-informed practice and regulatory understanding.
• Excellent team leadership, organisation and delegation with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead care practices and deputise for the Registered Manager.
• Oversee staff supervision, development and performance.
• Ensure safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
• Direct work with children to promote positive outcomes.
• Plan shifts, allocate resources, maintain day-to-day operations.
• Support development and implementation of care and therapeutic plans.
• Collaborate with external professionals to secure outcomes.
