Job summary

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Chief Financial Officer (Corporate Finance). You will report to the Chief Financial Officer and provide strategic and operational leadership across the Trust’s finance function, guiding financial planning, governance and performance to sustain high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Significant senior finance leadership experience within a large and complex NHS organisation.
• Experience of financial accounting, statutory reporting and governance.
• Proven ability to lead large finance teams through organisational change.
• Experience delivering financial recovery, sustainability and transformation programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Corporate Finance Directorate and strategic financial leadership for the Trust.
• Oversee production of timely financial reporting, statutory accounts and regulatory returns.
• Manage treasury, cash flow, working capital and financial controls.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance, identify opportunities for digital innovation and automation.
• Support the Board and Executive Team with complex financial advice and decision making.
