Job summary

Oxfam Books & Music - Exeter is seeking a Deputy Shop Manager to lead day-to-day shop operations and teams in a busy retail environment. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, merchandising, and effective store processes at Exeter shop.

You will work with the Shop Manager, ensuring budgets are monitored and staff are supported. This part-time role offers a hands-on, community-focused environment with volunteers assisting in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to support development and maintenance of a successful, inclusive and diverse team.
• Some commercial awareness with ability to support effective retail processes and strong merchandising.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Shop Manager, and to build positive relationships with other colleagues, provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to demonstrate resilience to everyday pressures that come with the role and manage conflicting demands.
• Numerate and financially literate, able to interpret basic financial reports, monitor budgets and maintain shop administration systems.

The role of the deputy shop manager is empowered, varied, busy and gives the opportunity to work with some amazing people.
