Job summary

University of Cambridge is seeking a Deputy Biofacility Manager to assist the Biofacility Manager with day-to-day operations in a busy biomedical services facility in South Cambridge. You will co-ordinate animal husbandry, manage staff, and ensure compliance with Home Office regulations, while holding leadership responsibilities and acting as NACWO for part of the facility.

The role involves supervision, training, record-keeping, and occasional weekend/Bank Holiday duties, with a 2.5% salary

Qualifications

• IAT Level 3 or equivalent.
• Home Office Licence modules A-C.
• Personal Licence holder.
• Experience supervising or managing staff.
• Essential biofacility experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate animal husbandry work and daily care of animals.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with Home Office regulations.
• Supervise staff and provide training and assessments.
• Genotyping and breeding of genetically modified animals; use IVC tech.
