Job summary

Flexzo Teach seeks a Deputy or Assistant Headteacher to drive daily operations, lead pastoral care, and oversee staff rotas in a dynamic, startup-style setting. Qualified teachers with SEMH/AP leadership are invited to apply and shape the provision alongside families and local authorities.

Qualifications

• QTS or leadership experience within SEMH/AP required.
• Leadership in curriculum or pastoral areas with strong organizational skills to manage staff, rotas and behaviour systems.
• Team Teach training or equivalent positive behaviour management training preferred.
• Pastoral support background with SEMH/complex behaviours.
• Strong operational leadership to manage site routines, staff, and collaborate with parents and multi-agency networks.
• Ability to thrive in a startup-style environment with evolving processes and effective systems.

What You Need

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or demonstrated leadership experience within an SEMH or Alternative Provision (AP) setting is required.
• Proven background in curriculum or pastoral leadership, with strong organizational skills to manage staff performance, daily rotas, and behavior management systems.
• Team Teach training (or equivalent positive behavior management training) is highly preferred.
• Track record in pastoral support, with skills in guiding young people facing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges and complex behaviors.
• Strong operational leadership to manage daily site routines, oversee staff, and work effectively alongside parents, external multi-agency networks, and local authorities.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-style environment where processes are evolving, bringing the vision and adaptability needed to build effective systems.
• A valid right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
