As a Deputy Accommodation Manager, you will be part of the UCL Accommodation management team and contribute to developing a high-performing, positive Front of House Accommodation team.
Your responsibilities include ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students, employees, visitors, and contractors within our properties. You will oversee and deliver high-quality, responsive service to residents and proactively maintain the high FM standards of our properties.
The role involves supporting open days, intake days, and departures, assisting visitors, students, and external contacts, and maintaining excellent customer service. You will liaise with departments across UCL, including Marketing, Communication, Student Experience, and Estates Maintenance.
You will supervise a team of Accommodation Advisors, managing their development needs, conducting 1-to-1 meetings, and overseeing performance. Planning resource levels, including staff rotas, holidays, and recruitment, is also part of your duties.
This position involves floating between the four key areas of Student Accommodation, primarily based in the King's Cross/Angel area.

To succeed, you should have experience in team supervision or a customer-facing environment, including performance management, coaching, or mentoring. You need strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, financial awareness, and experience managing costs and budgets. Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office are essential.
You should be a motivator, capable of encouraging excellent customer service, with strong communication skills and a calm approach to handling complaints. A positive, collegiate attitude, adaptability, attention to detail, and willingness to undertake challenging tasks are important qualities.
