Job summary

Go Traffic Management Limited is seeking a reliable Yard Operative in Worsley. You will manage yard operations, ensure efficient stock control, handle PPE, and coordinate with operatives for safe site support.

The role requires good organisational skills, a full UK driving licence, and basic handyman abilities. Telehandler licence is preferred but not essential; a commitment to company policies is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational skills.
• Telehandler licence (preferable).
• Full UK Driving licence required.
• Basic computer knowledge and numeracy.
• Good communication with colleagues and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Good computer skills to utilise sign making software for production of road signs.
• Ensure planned work jobs have required equipment prepicked in advance and report shortfalls.
• Capable of assigning operatives in the depot during dead time.
• Monitor battery charging and quantities; report to manager.
• Carry out weekly stock checks to keep kit levels topped up.
• Report shortages of equipment as needed.
• Monitor PPE levels; issue PPE and report to manager.
• Ensure plant and equipment are in good working order and carry out minor maintenance when needed.
• Maintain a safe working environment by walking the depot to check hazards.
• Keep yard and stores area clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensure security of yard/stores and monitor secured areas daily.
• Optimise space in yards/stores.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
