Job summary

ScotRail in Scotland seeks an engineering team member to control and direct the safe movement of trains within the depot. You will drive, shunt, service and repair EMUs, conduct CET servicing, and maintain a safe working environment.

The role requires willingness to learn new procedures, a strong safety focus, and the ability to work 35 hours in a rotating day/back/night shift pattern with weekend work. Training salary £49,294; completion leads to £50,907 pa.

Qualifications

• Highly motivated, team-oriented candidate with a flexible approach.
• Willingness to learn new skills for the team’s benefit.
• Ability to adapt to new processes and environments.
• Experience in an engineering setting is preferred.
• Willingness to learn shunting and driving procedures.
• Shunting qualification would be desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to drive when needed.
• Focus on safety, efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Drive, shunt, service and repair electric multiple units within the depot.
• Perform CET servicing in accordance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean and productive working environment.
• Carry out reception duties and depot security checks.
• Conduct service quality inspections and salting/snow clearing duties.
• Fulfil Yard Co-ordinator duties as required.
