Qualifications

  • Valid UK Class 2 Driving Licence with CPC is essential.
  • Experience in highways construction and stock control management is a plus.

Job description

Salary: £33,849 to £36,469 per year (Grade 6)

Location: Area 3, NY Highways, Scarborough (Seamer Carr)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time, Monday to Friday

As NY Highways continue to grow, we are looking for a Depot Supervisor to join our Seamer depot to play an integral part in our operations, helping us to deliver the best service to our community.

Working hand-in-hand with management, you will maximise the efficiency of the depot, while ensuring the working environment is safe for all to operate in, as well as controlling stock movement and coordinating the depot’s traffic.

This role will provide vital support to the branch operations and will be depot based. You will follow health and safety procedures, supervising and assisting with various duties in conjunction with the loading and unloading of vehicles. You will also be able to work to deadline to ensure timely delivery of materials and associated equipment to meet our customers’ expectations. Working as a team player and the ability to work varying hours in all weathers will be key for this position.

Clear communication skills will help you with other responsibilities that include assisting with loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring the yards are clean and organised at all times and clearly communicating ETAs, as well as missing or damaged items with colleagues.

To be successful in the role, you will have some of the following skills and experience:

  1. Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence with CPC
  2. Ability to operate machinery including telehandler, forklift and/or loader
  3. Experience and knowledge in Highways construction and maintenance
  4. Experience managing stock control and stock movement on a busy site
  5. Understanding and awareness of managing Health and Safety
  6. Good IT Skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  7. Knowledge of IMS (and compliance with ISO45001, 14001 and 9001)
