In this role, you’ll be based at our West Thurrock depot, where you’ll have primary responsibility for facilities services. We’ll look to you to build and maintain relationships with key service users to allow operations to run effectively, oversee contractor performance and deliver service improvement projects, that align with our overall FM plan. If you have a commercial approach and experience working in FM, then we can offer you the opportunity to grow your career and make a real impact across Co-op.

What you’ll do

  • Provide oversight of all property-related activities on the site, operating as part of our depot operational management team and a trusted advisor on property-related matters
  • Build and manage relationships with key partners, such as logistics operations, contractors, property, and construction colleagues
  • Identify and co-ordinate responses to any property-related risks to depot operations
  • Be fully aware of all open and outstanding FM or property activity for the assigned site and liaise with relevant partners to prioritise delivery
  • Undertake formal periodic audits and daily walks/inspections to make sure that on site conditions are suitable and required works are picked up early
  • Lead on incident management for your site, co-ordinating the response to maintain/bring back to full operation as quickly as possible
  • Provide of out of hours cover (covering all depots nationally) as part of a rota

This role would suit people who have

  • Operational experience of FM
  • An awareness of supply chain management
  • Experience of working to a compliance framework, and strong risk awareness
  • Good general IT skills (you’re comfortable using programmes in the Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel and PowerPoint)
  • A commercial approach

Why Co-op?

If you’ve got the skills and experience we’re looking for, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You’ll also get:

  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 in line with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Access to a discounted Nuffield Health gym membership across multiple locations
