Job summary

Welfare Hire (part of Kelling Group) is seeking a Depot Engineer to join our Major Repairs Team. You’ll deliver high-quality refurbishments, major repairs, and fault diagnosis across our fleet, reporting to the Foreman and working with the Depot Manager.

You’ll contribute to safe, compliant maintenance, stock control, and accurate reporting via the depot’s mobile tablet, supporting other depots when required in a dynamic, growing team.

Qualifications

• Experience in equipment repair, engineering, or a similar maintenance role.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across the depot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
• Proactive approach and strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out major in-house repairs, refurbishments, and detailed fault diagnosis across a wide range of welfare equipment.
• Complete planned maintenance tasks to ensure all assets are safe, compliant, and ready for hire.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels of parts and consumables.
• Record all parts usage accurately using the depot’s mobile tablet system.
• Update job cards, repair notes, and status information promptly and accurately via the mobile tablet.
• Provide support to other depots or departments when required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
• Keep all work areas clean, tidy, and safe to maintain a productive working environment.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements at all times.
• Support the Foreman and Depot Manager with any other tasks required to keep the depot running smoothly.

About the Role

Reporting to our Foreman and working closely with the Depot Manager, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality refurbishments, major repairs, and fault diagnosis across our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
