The ideal candidate is a proactive, quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We seek a creative problem-solver who challenges the status quo and brings innovative solutions to everyday issues. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will build robust relationships with internal teams and external partners, including vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and support large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructure across data centers, Points of Presence (POP), edge, backbone, and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure.
  • Provide onsite network support and expertise at local data center campuses and remote support for POP sites, collaborating with local vendor support staff.
  • Schedule and perform network maintenance, repairs, and upgrades with minimal impact on the production network.
  • Calculate and document equipment power requirements, coordinating with Engineering, Facilities Operations, and/or colocation vendors to meet these needs.
  • Collaborate with Network Engineering, Logistics, and equipment vendors to integrate new equipment and technologies into the production network.
  • Work with network provisioning engineers to activate new circuits and engage with vendors to troubleshoot out-of-service or faulty circuits.
  • Manage task and incident queues and participate in ongoing DC/POP deployment projects.
  • Utilize internal tools and scripts to configure, monitor, and repair servers and network equipment.
  • Develop internal documentation and conduct training as needed.
  • Contribute proactively to documentation, automation, and process improvements.
  • Implement and enhance data center and POP best practices.
  • Participate in on-call activities and follow escalation processes to support the infrastructure 24/7.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Layer 1, 2, and 3 networking.
  • Experience in new PoP or data center builds.
  • Understanding of outside plant construction requirements, with fiber, copper, or coax experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of fiber optic technology, including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies.
  • Experience in rack and stack, and installation of new racks and devices.
  • Experience in device installation and testing, software/firmware upgrades, re-bootstrapping, and decommissioning.
  • Experience in network optimization, including re-stripes, migrations, upgrades, swaps, and capacity upgrades.
  • Knowledge of DCN and experience in DCN installation, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Experience in break-fix support.
  • Familiarity with Juniper, Ciena, Infinera, Cisco, Arista, and ZPE systems (Network Deployment).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and utilize troubleshooting skills, systems, and tools, with creative problem-solving abilities under pressure.
  • Programming and scripting capabilities are highly desired.
  • Ability to work within a global team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with limited supervision.
  • CCNP or JNCIP certification preferred.
