Job Description:

The Department of Education at Oxford is seeking a Departmental Lecturer in Mathematics Education. The successful candidate will teach graduate students in the Department, primarily in the PGCE Mathematics programme, as well as the MSc in Learning and Teaching and MSc in Teacher Education. The ideal applicant will have research and teaching experience in Mathematics Education, be research-active, and contribute to the Department’s REF profile through publications and research funding.

The role involves contributing to the department’s renowned PGCE programme, which emphasizes innovative, research-informed pedagogy, and engaging in research and academic administration. Candidates should hold a PhD/DPhil or be nearing completion, possess a strong academic background in the curriculum subject, and have experience in mentoring or tutoring in teacher education. A developing publication record and familiarity with research methodologies are required. The position is full-time, fixed-term for 12 months, starting from 1st September 2025.
