Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 dental nurse to join the Community Dental Nursing Team for a six-month fixed-term post. Qualifications

• Dental nursing qualification enabling GDC registration.
• Registration with the General Dental Council is required.
• Relevant experience as part of a dental team.
• Knowledge of cross-infection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor patients before, during and after dental treatment.
• Provide chairside assistance to clinicians across the dental service.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and confidentiality.
• Care for surgery equipment and instruments, including medical devices.
• Ensure emergency drugs and equipment are available and up to date.
• Assist with chairside work and post-operative care during GA sessions.
• Provide oral health education to patients.
• Carry out clerical and administrative duties to keep the clinic running.
• Support the Senior Dental Nurse and supervise trainees.
