This role will be based at our Charles Clifford Dental Hospital which provides specialist dental services for people in Sheffield and the surrounding districts.
From day one you will earn a wage while you are learning and gaining experience by completing the Dental Nurse Apprenticeship.
You will study a Dental Nurse Level 3 Apprenticeship alongside your role within the Trust.

This is a 18 month fixed term contract which will start in September 2024 on the national apprenticeship wage. There is no upper age limit on joining us as an apprentice.

Candidates must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and show a flexible approach to meet the working practice of the department.

Main duties of the job
You will be providing support within Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and will carry out the normal dental nurse role and duties supervised by qualified dental nurses and tutors. Duties within this role include provide close chairside assistance, test equipment and machinery, receive and prepare patients and undertake safely and effectively decontamination, disinfection and sterilisation of instruments and equipment ready for use.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with strong organisational skills and have a desire to deliver excellent patient care within their role.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 18 months due to this being an apprenticeship/training programme. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts.
A learner/applicant must be a UK, EEA, or EU resident for at least the past three years to undertake an apprenticeship training programme.
The apprentice allowance as specified in the Minimum Wage Regulations will be paid for the first 12 months. The rate will increase after 12 months in line with these regulations for anyone that is age 19 or over.
