Job summary

Locum dental nurse cover for the Ministry of Defence at Bulford Dental Centre, on a three-week assignment at 37.5 hours a week, placed through a recruitment agency. The role serves service personnel, and fit depends on a current GDC registration, with no visa sponsorship available.

What the job involves

• Assist with clinical duties, including preparing and sterilising instruments, operating the dental computing system and processing radiographs
• Manage patient appointments and dental records, including documenting dental prosthetic appliances
• Follow infection control procedures and health and safety policies
• Assist in the central sterilisation area as required
• Ensure compliance with GDC standards and current legislation

Qualifications

• Current emergency and resuscitation certification
• Completion of relevant CPD courses, such as medical emergencies, safeguarding and radiography
• Safeguarding Children and Adults Level 3 certification

Registration & licences

• Full registration with the General Dental Council
• Valid indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation

Experience

• Clinical practice of at least 2 sessions a week over the last 15 months

Checks & eligibility

• Health clearance for exposure prone procedures, covering tuberculosis, hepatitis and HIV
• PVG membership (Disclosure Scotland) or an access Northern Ireland certificate
• Existing right to work in the UK, with no restrictions on hours
• Satisfactory compliance requirements before placement

Nice to have

• Previous Ministry of Defence experience
• Dental nurse qualification
