University of Lancashire is seeking a suitably qualified GDC-registered dental nurse to join our onsite clinic-based teaching team. The role involves chairside support across teaching programs, instrument preparation, sterilisation and infection control, and providing pre/postoperative guidance for dental procedures.

Experience in a busy dental environment and ongoing CPD are essential. Candidates must hold GDC registration and a National Certificate or NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing.

About the role:

The School of Dentistry requires Dental Nurses to join our onsite clinic-based team. This role requires a suitably qualified, GDC registered dental nurse to work flexibly providing nursing across our clinical teaching activities, patient based regulated activities, supporting external epidemiology studies and oral health promotion.

Nurse roles within clinic provide chairside set up and support for the teaching programs including implantology, periodontology, endodontology, oral surgery, prosthodontics, BDSi DClinDent and clinical teaching classes. Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and update training.

  • Supporting and assisting the range of clinicians onsite (Consultants, Dentist, Therapist, Hygienist visiting academics or students).

  • Provide pre and postoperative advice and instruction for dental procedures.

  • Preparation of clinical areas including instrument sterilization, cross infection control and all relevant information, equipment, and materials in readiness for the treatment of patients.

  • Full chairside support

Working hours for these roles are 36.25 per week. Shifts will be between 08:30-18:15 Monday to Friday.

About you:

Candidates will need to evidence substantial experience in a busy dental environment, possess knowledgeofSOE and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.

You must be registered with the General Dental Council and hold aNational Certificate of the Examining Board for Dental Nurses or NVQ level 3.
