Job summary

Marks & Spencer plc is seeking a Denim-focused Assistant Designer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will support design leadership, develop product concepts, and deliver detailed tech packs to sourcing offices.

The role requires collaboration across Design, Technical, and Merchandising teams to translate trends into commercially viable garments. You should bring strong design sensibilities, deep knowledge of fabric and fit, and proficiency with CAD tools to create accurate tech packs

Qualifications

Design handwriting and taste level aligned with M&S style and customer expectations.
Significant design experience in Retail and/or Manufacturing industries.
Strong understanding of fabric, fit, and garment make up for product integrity.
Ability to create clear, accurate tech packs.

Responsibilities

Work with Design Lead to deliver global product direction through seasonal briefs and opportunities.
Design and develop product; deliver high-quality tech packs via PLM for sourcing.
Collaborate with Technical teams to ensure fabric specs and BOM align with design intent.
Conduct global retail research and communicate opportunities post-trips.
Collaborate with Designers across Clothing & Home to build cohesive looks.
