Job summary

The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in Wales is seeking a Health Care Support Worker for Bryn Hesketh Ward, a dementia assessment unit linked to the CMHT. This post is a fixed term/secondment until 13 February 2027 and applicants must be current BCUHB staff.

You will deliver care as part of the nursing team, support registered nurses, and contribute to holistic patient care while following the ward's care plans and policies. Welsh language ability is desirable.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or working towards level 3 within 18 months of appointment.
• Experience in health care sector or mental health care setting.
• Understanding of risk management and health & safety issues.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work within a team and care with warmth and understanding.
• Be a team player.
• Fitness to use de-escalation and safe handling training as required.

Responsibilities

• The post holder will work as part of the nursing team delivering evidence based high quality clinical care that focuses on the direct needs of the patient.
• The post holder will assist registered nurses/practitioners in the provision of delegated care of patients.
• The post holder will undertake a broad range of duties and work independently and as part of the team, supervising patients and assisting with future care plans.
