Job summary

Leeds City Council is hiring a Day Support Worker to join the Dolphin Manor team in Rothwell (LS26 0UD). The role is permanent, 24 hours per week with early, late and weekend shifts.

Salary is £26,016 – £26,847 pro rata, with a strong focus on helping adults live independently and with dignity in the community. You will work with people living with dementia, provide personal care where needed, support daily activities, and collaborate with health colleagues and carers to deliver person-centred

Qualifications

• Awareness of needs of older people and people with disabilities.
• Person-centred approach with ability to respond to changes in customers’ skills, health and support needs.
• Ability to undertake moving and handling tasks.
• Assist with daily living tasks while promoting independence.
• Effective communication and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to develop the service.
• Support across older people accommodation provision.
• Assist new staff in understanding roles.
• Assess new referrals with senior staff to ensure eligibility.
• Identify needs and strengths through assessment and support planning.
• Contribute to support plans and risk assessments to promote safe independence.
