Job summary

Scottish Borders Council is seeking a Support Worker for the Enhanced Dementia Unit at Waverley Residential Home in Galashiels. The role involves providing person-centred practical and emotional support to residents as outlined in individual plans, ensuring health and well-being, and promoting inclusion.

Expect duties include assisting with personal care and meals, mobility support if needed, and safe administration of medications. PVG and SSSC registration are arranged, with training provided.

Qualifications

• SVQ2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• PVG Adults - we will do this for you!
• SSSC registered.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred practical and emotional support to empower the people we care for, as outlined in individual support plans.
• Promote the health and well-being of the people we support and ensure their needs are met in an inclusive way.
• Support, enable and involve service users in all aspects of their lives, including personal care, eating, drinking, and mobility if necessary.
• Be responsible for the safe administration of Service Users' medication, following relevant training.
