Job summary

Black Country Housing Group is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to join the New Bradley Hall team in Kingswinford. You will provide high-quality personal care, support residents’ daily activities, and work as a key worker under assigned care plans.

DBS enhanced checks are required, and visa sponsorship is not offered. The role emphasizes resident dignity, safety, and independence within a dementia-friendly home, with a strong focus on compassionate, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Essential: Experience working in a care environment or similar.
• NVQ Level 2 in Adult Health and Social Care or equivalent (or willing to work towards).
• Basic understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards and compliance.
• Understanding of the individual rights of older people and how these can be promoted in and out of the home.
• Understanding of care plans, risk assessment, medications, etc.
• Desirable: Knowledge of supporting people with Dementia and age-related illnesses.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of personal care (toileting, bathing, etc.) following individual care plans.
• Act as a key worker for residents and carry out responsibilities as defined in the training manual and care plan.
• Maintain safety in the home in line with statutory requirements and the Health and Social Care Act.
• Report changes in residents’ condition to a senior on duty and update records as required.
• Respect confidentiality of residents’ personal information at all times and maintain professional boundaries.
• Encourage residents to participate in leisure activities suitable to their needs and preferences.
• Make and change beds, tidy rooms, and assist with light cleaning and laundry to keep the Home welcoming.
• Assist with serving meals and drinks, including helping residents who need support to eat and drink.
