Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom is seeking a seasoned Delivery Manager to lead multi‑team, multi‑vendor initiatives, balancing business aims with technical delivery. You will own plans, manage risks, and report to governance forums, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

You will influence stakeholders, drive cadence across delivery teams, and mentor staff, while embedding operational readiness and cost governance across projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong delivery leadership experience in multi-team, multi-vendor environments.
  • Ability to manage complex dependencies across multiple teams and suppliers.
  • Excellent understanding of business and operational objectives and stakeholder landscapes.
  • Proven delivery governance capability, including RAID management, milestone planning, reporting, roadmap alignment and dependency management.
  • Strong project and programme management skills, including cost management and investment governance.
  • Experience leading commercial activities, including RFPs, vendor negotiations and contract management.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across business teams and act as a trusted partner.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity, structure complex challenges and drive clarity across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience with CNI operations, SRE practices, DevOps models or real-time operational systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain delivery plans, milestones and dependencies.
  • Manage RAID logs and provide early warning of delivery risks with mitigation actions.
  • Provide structured delivery reporting to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Lead executive reporting activities, Programme Management Boards, Project Hubs / Checkpoints and Cost Monitoring Framework narratives.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with programme and business objectives.
  • Challenge priorities, scope and sequencing using NESO business and product knowledge.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Build alignment across business, operational, technology delivery and third-party teams.
  • Influence decision-making and resolve delivery blockers.
  • Capture, manage and track benefits to ensure value realisation.
  • Manage budgets, cost tracking, forecasting and financial governance.
  • Lead investment governance, sanction approvals, business case updates, steering committees and project closures.
  • Drive vendor and commercial management, including RFPs.
  • Oversee contract performance, scope control and commercial risk management.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering digital products and services.
  • Ensure solutions are designed, developed, tested, deployed and supported effectively.
  • Provide coaching, peer mentoring and collaborative delivery leadership.
  • Provide line management and development opportunities where required.
  • Develop and use delivery management frameworks, artefacts, tools and techniques.
  • Ensure solutions are ready for live operation with CNI and operational support teams.
  • Embed operational considerations early to minimise operational risk.
  • Coordinate communication, change impact, incident preparedness and release readiness.
  • Coordinate transition into service, support arrangements, training and business readiness.
  • Support deployed applications and platforms.
  • Improve operational handovers, service acceptance and incident response mechanisms.
