Job summary

South East Water UK is seeking a Delivery Manager to join the Engineering leadership team. You will own a portfolio valued between £20-40 million annually and ensure the safe design and delivery of asset engineering programmes, coordinating multiple workstreams and third-party suppliers.

Qualifications

  • A degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a similar relevant subject.
  • NEC3/4 accreditation is preferred.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and programmes from concept to delivery.
  • Senior management experience within client, consultancy, or contractor organisations.
  • Water industry or utilities experience is advantageous.

This involves planning and leading multiple workstreams, managing third-party suppliers and stakeholders, and overseeing project managers and their teams.

Main responsibilities
  • Plan & lead the safe design and delivery of a programme of works to time and budget whilst compliant with all Company H&S, Environmental and company policies.
  • Accountable for the performance of the third party suppliers and stakeholders working in partnership to deliver the programme of works.
  • Responsible for the management of the Project Managers and teams supporting the delivery.
  • Uses evidential data to make objective decisions taking into account stakeholders including the end customer.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
  • A degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a similar relevant subject.
  • NEC3/4 project manager accreditation.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and programmes from initial concept through to successful delivery.
  • Experience working at a senior management level within a client, consultancy, or contractor organisation.
  • Proven experience of engineering delivery within the water industry or similar utilities sector, such as gas or energy.
  • Excellent organisational and resource allocation skills.
  • The ability to undertake recruitment responsibilities to ensure your teams are fully resourced with the necessary skills and knowledge for successful delivery.
  • Strong people management skills, a collaborative team approach, and the ability to work effectively with peers and influence individuals not within your direct line management.
  • Sound commercial and contract knowledge and acumen.
  • A proven track record of managing budgets, schedules, and risks effectively.
  • The ability to exercise sound engineering judgement and make well-informed decisions in complex situations.
  • Excellent technical report writing and editorial skills, alongside strong oral communication abilities.

Compensation package

Up to £97,000 p.a. dependent on experience, plus £7,513 p.a. car allowance
