Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company is seeking a delivery driver to join a dedicated two-person team. You will perform house deliveries, install furniture, and ensure customer satisfaction while handling heavy items and navigating stairs. Safety and teamwork are essential.

The role offers a competitive salary of £32,723 per annum (£15.93/hour) plus an annual bonus up to £2,000 and benefits, with rota patterns and a focus on consistent, reliable service.

Qualifications

• 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up-to-date Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid manual driving licence.
• Valid driver’s licence for 12 months with fewer than 6 points.
• Be prepared to work as part of a supportive two-person team.
• You are great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• Able to install and lift heavy furniture in different home settings.
• Strong time management and thrive on variety.
• Value safety for yourself and others.

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate with the customer prior to delivery to confirm arrival.
• Deliver furniture to the requested room and leave no rubbish behind.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and partner brands.
• Work with your team and managers to improve service standards.
• Carry out daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report defects.
• Comply with driving laws and company policies.

You’ll work as part of a skilled 2‑person delivery team, completing 10–15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers’ homes. This is a hands‑on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you’ll thrive here.

What you’ll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you’re on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.

The role is for you if…

• You hold a 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up to date Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid manual driving licence
• You’ve held a valid driver’s licence for 12 months with less than 6 points
• You’re ready to work as part of a supportive two‑person team.
• You’re great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• You’re comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
• You’ve got strong time management skills and thrive on variety.
