Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company, part of the DFS Group, is seeking a delivery driver for a two-person team responsible for 10–15 furniture deliveries daily. You will install furniture in customers' homes, requiring regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs in a hands-on role.

Training is provided, with a focus on safety and high-quality customer service within a supportive team. Competitive pay includes bonus potential and a location supplement, contributing to a stable, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s licence held for 12 months with fewer than 6 points
• Great with people and enjoy helping customers
• Comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in customers' homes
• Pride in safety for yourself and others

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner
• Communicate with the customer prior to delivery to confirm arrival
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the requested room and dispose of waste appropriately
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company and its brand partners in all actions
• Work with the team and managers to provide feedback and improve service standards
• Carry out daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report any issues

• Great Pay: A competitive salary of £28,189 per annum (£13.72 per hour) plus an annual bonus of up to £2000 (paid quarterly) for delivering an amazing service.

You’ll work as part of a skilled 2-person delivery team, completing 10-15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers’ homes. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you’ll thrive here.

What you'll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you’re on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.
