Job summary

United Wholesale Grocers Limited is recruiting a HGV Driver Class 2 for the United Springburn depot. You will perform multidrop deliveries to customers, moving goods in cages and on pallets, and you will load your lorry according to the daily route while following CPC regulations.

You will handle customer queries and payments on delivery, take responsibility for the zone and lorry, maintain good housekeeping standards, and support other departments as required.

Salary: Starting at £14.50 per hour + Bonus

Who We Are

United Wholesale Grocers Limited have 3 have branches, 2 in Glasgow and 1 at Gateshead in the North East of England. We are primarily a Cash & Carry Wholesale business with a wide product portfolio consisting of Beers, Wines, Spirits, Soft Drinks, Confectionary, Crisps and Snacks, Household and Grocery.

Key Tasks / Responsibilities

• Multidrop delivery of customers' orders in cages and on pallets in an organised and timely fashion
• Loading your lorry according to your daily route while following all CPC regulations
• Dealing with Customer queries and payments upon delivery
• Taking responsibility for the zone and lorry that you work in; this includes ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained
• Supporting other departments as required

Qualities We Look For

• You must have a good understanding of tachograph rules and regulations.
• Confident using tail lifts
• You will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service
• Candidates must be CPC qualified and must not have more than 6 points on their license to be considered for the role.
• Excellent work ethic is required, as well as punctuality and reliability
• Initiative and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team
