Job summary

Argos, Berwick-upon-Tweed, is hiring a Home Delivery Driver to deliver products to customers’ doors in a timely and careful manner. You will drive a 3.5 tonne van, perform essential checks, and assist customers with queries while maintaining a high standard of service.

The role involves flexible shifts across the week, training on new tech, and helping in stock/shops when not on the road. A valid UK licence and good eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Ability to work varied shifts across the week and three shift blocks daily

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver products to customers’ doors
• Complete checks to keep the van clean, organised, and roadworthy
• Assist customers and keep them informed of delays
• Learn to use new technology and drive a large vehicle in various locations
• Assist in stock room or shop floor when not on the road
• Build knowledge about products, services and promotions to offer recommendations

Eligibility:

• You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and, if you're successful, there'll be a driving assessment when you join us
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Ability to work a variety of shifts across the week and three shift blocks during the day: Monday to Sunday 5:00am - 1:00pm, 1:00pm - 6:00pm, 6:00pm - 10:30pm. Your hours will be scheduled to fit around your availability and may vary from week to week.Plus, there may be opportunities for overtime, including supporting your local Sainsbury's.

What you'll be doing:

• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver a variety of products to our customers doorsteps, on-time and in great condition
• Completing checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before getting out onto the road to drive safely in a variety of locations and conditions
• Serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and keeping them aware of any delays
• Confident in learning to use new technology to do your job brilliantly, comfortable driving a large vehicle in different locations from residential streets to country lanes
• When not on the road, you'll help maintain a slick operation in the stock room or on the shop floor
• Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
